Olsen for Loveland Schools

headshot_croppedMy mom used to drive a mini van with a vanity plate that read “Mommy O”. With my mom’s involvement in the Loveland, Ohio school district and her previous job at Barnes & Noble where she was never shy to greet a new face learn a stranger’s entire life history, our family nickname for her quickly became known around town. Everyone knew when Mommy O was on the road!

She has since retired the “Mommy O” plate, but I’m pretty sure everyone still knows who she is. She has faithfully served on the Loveland School Board for 8 years and has taught her kids to support public education. Before her role on the Board, my mom held various positions on PTA’s and PTSA’s. (We were the kids whose mom was always at our school.)

She takes her role seriously. To this day there are times when I know she can’t share with me the details of a recent meeting or confidential happenings, but it is more than obvious that she cares deeply about a fair and ethical outcome. She is truly invested in whatever is best for the school community she serves.

On November 3, my mom will be on the ballot for re-election. I’m a fan of her efforts to go “paperless” during her campaign and impressed with her determination to have a well functioning blog to advertise her campaign. Good luck, Mommy O!
