Analiese, Meet Annaliese

We had some visitors last weekend–my grandparents and Analiese’s great-grandparents. It was such a joy to have them here and for them to meet Analiese for the first time. Analiese is named after my grandma, which we talked about way back when we announced her name.

I was thankful for the nice weather we had for a few days (before the rain came on Saturday…boo!). They were in their element sitting outside with the sun shining and a book or paper in hand. They are pretty easy to please that way.

One of my favorite things about spending time with my grandparents is listening to their stories. They tell a lot of stories–and disagree about the exact date, location and who was present every. single. time. But I still appreciate the details they share. I, for one, am not good about remember dates, but they can think back to when they first visited Detroit in 1953 and recall that it was in October. I struggle to remember the year my parents were married, but my grandparents have made it a point to remember these things and pass them on. Thank goodness for stories. I hope we tell stories to our grandkids like they do.

And thank goodness for Photoshop. Everyone had a smile on their face except for one person in this photo. Photoshop is like magic.

Thanks for making the trip to Michigan, Grandma and Grandpa (and the rest of the Olsen crew)! We had such a great time!

  1. Aww such sweet pictures of Ann and Warren with Analiese! I hope she grows up to be as beautiful as her great grandma Ann:) So happy they were able to visit too! Looks like you had a great time. I also love all the photos of your whole family…you have posted so many nice ones in the blog….we will have to try to do the same with ours sometime!

  2. Loved the pictures of Analiese with her great-grandparents, Warren and Ann, and also the family picture. There is no better pleasure than enjoying the company of a happy, beautiful baby. They both look great and are so fortunate to have each other. It is wonderful also to reminisce and be able to tell stories of the past to the younger generation.
