It’s been quite some time since I last posted a non-Weekly Parker post. Actually, it was on September 11, 2009, when I posted this insightful tidbit. Well, I’m back! Actually, you can thank Heather for keeping the blog interesting and keeping it going.

Anyways, what has brought me back to posting? Heather has been napping for the past couple hours and I already took out the trash and packed lunches. So, I start looking at our blog, updated a link, checked out Google Analytics for the site, and then had a snack.

Can you guess what the snack was? Yes, Nutella. Don’t forget about Nutella. We did, for a year or so, and then last week at the grocery it basically jumped into our cart. It’s very yummy.

Yesterday evening, I sat on the edge of the tub to shave my legs. (Too much information? Well, it’s important to know this for the rest of the story.) So, I get done and all of a sudden I start hearing this really loud buzzing sort of noise coming from behind the shower wall. Now, Ross had been washing dishes in the kitchen just on the other side of the wall. So, my first thought is that something is wrong with the pipes and we should call our landlord. But, we had to go to youth group. We return and as far as I can remember, I don’t think I heard the noise later that night. But, I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom (oh the joys of having a baby pushing on your bladder!) and heard it again. I had a hard time falling back to sleep because I had this fear that the pipes would burst and water would saturate our entire place. As I lay awake at 3:30 a.m. I’m thinking:

When can the landlord and a plumber make it over to check things out? Parker is home during the days while we’re at work…not sure that would work out well for people to come over with him there…would one of us need to take a half day?…we’ll be away this weekend…what if something happens while we’re gone without it being looked at?

Ross stayed home and ran instead of going to the gym this morning so I asked him (in my very groggy state) if he still heard that sound in the bathroom. He said “on and off”. Hmm…weird.

So, I get up (Ross has left at this point) and take a shower. He was right…on and off, every now and then I’d hear that sound. Then…

I grab my Venus razor (yes…again…is it pregnancy that causes your hairs to grow twice as fast??). The vibrating culprit. With a dying battery. Are you kidding me?
